Books I desperately want for Noah
My love for reading started at an early age. With the vivid memory of my father’s books scattered all through the house, family visits to the library and the joy that the latest Scholastic catalogues brought me, I can’t help wanting beautifully drawn , thoughtful and imaginative stories for my baby.
So this is as much a wish list, as much as a “note to self.” Enjoy.

Along a Long road because we live in Vancouver, along a bike path, there is a toddler tricycle park at our local park, and I want Noah to get excited about exploring the world on a bike.

Pomelo Begins to Grow is a story about an elephant whose musings about growing bigger ( re: growing up) and how that affects his interaction with the environment is fascinating to me. He has concerns and fears about growing that I think many of us, not just our children, can relate to.

Red Wagon is all about the power of imagination, and the beauty of play. This little fox goes on some incredible adventures, all on the way to the market to buy vegetables for her moth.

Grandpa Green because it is written by the same author of the Stinky Cheese Man! ( A book i LOVED and still have at my parent’s house, with its “different” illustrations and alternative takes on classic fairytales)

Press Here because I love interactive stories. I think it is wonderful that magic can happen when you press on the yellow dot of this book’s cover…. it’s exciting that creative minds can find ways to stimulate children without the use of electronic devices and touch screens.

I want my Hat Back because I want to teach Noah about the trouble and hurt that lying causes, and at the same time, the wide range of emotions liars and those being lied-to, experiences. And finally, it is simply a beautiful book.
